Examinations and Shows Children are encouraged to enter for examinations when their teacher feels they are ready. This is a great way to boost self confidence and gives the children a sense of achievement. There are also performances held every two years in which all pupils are involved. Festivals For those pupils who show exceptional ability there is the opportunity to take part in local dance festivals. These are competitions in which the child dances a solo, duet or trio and requires an extra commitment and private lessons. Rachel Macaree Rachel began dancing at the age of four and at sixteen went on to train at Performers College, Essex where she gained ISTD teaching qualifications in Ballet, Tap and Modern.
